At a meeting of the government of the Jewish state, he confirmed Israel’s agreement with the US initiative to extend the ceasefire with Hamas during the Ramadan and Passover holidays. “According to the information available to Israel, Hamas is currently holding 59 hostages: up to 24 of them are alive and at least 35 are dead,” Netanyahu said. Earlier, Israel resumed hostilities in the Gaza Strip, using aircraft, artillery and armored vehicles during the operation in the area of Khan Yunis.
