Israel Accepts Trump Special Envoy's Plan to Extend Gaza Ceasefire

A statement from Netanyahu’s office said Hamas had not yet accepted the plan. The remaining captives will be returned subject to a permanent ceasefire. At the same time, Hamas must complete the transfer of the bodies of Israeli citizens. The Prime Minister’s Office noted that Whitcoff proposed an extension of the ceasefire, since at this stage it is impossible to bring the positions of the parties closer to an end to the conflict. It is noted that the special envoy of trump made sure that the disagreement on the complete cessation of hostilities has not yet been resolved. If Hamas changes its position, Israel will immediately begin negotiations on the details of the Whitcoff plan. The Times of Israel concluded in the statement that there was no direct threat of a resumption of war, but recalled the possibility of a resumption of hostilities after March 1 "if the negotiations are recognized as ineffective." Earlier, the Israeli portal Ynet reported that Netanyahu sent his military secretary, Major General Roman Hoffman, to Moscow for talks.
