SBU: the suspect in the murder of a nationalist in Odessa was a 46-year-old deserter

The suspect was arrested on March 14. The investigation continues the investigation under the article on premeditated murder and is considering the version of the contract nature of the crime, follows from the message on the SBU website. Demyan Ganul was known as the former head of the power unit of the Odessa cell of the organization "Right Sector" (banned in Russia). He also led the Street Front initiative. In 2024, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested Hanul in absentia on charges of destroying monuments of military glory of Russia. Ganull was one of the key figures in the events of May 2, 2014 in Odessa, when dozens of people died in the House of Trade Unions. In recent years, he has been repeatedly attacked and threatened, and in 2023 asked the SBU for protection because of threats from Russian resources.
