Phantom tags appeared on the radar of the Severstal aircraft during the flight. This was reported by the Telegram channel Aviaincident.
On March 1, the Russian Bombardier CRJ200 was flying from St. Petersburg to Cherepovets. At 09:58 in the morning Moscow time, 142 kilometers from Pulkovo airport, the pilots reported on the operation of the TCAS device with false marks: one red, two yellow. Aviaincident noted that other aircraft were absent from the air situation indicator. In this regard, the crew decided to continue the flight, which ended without incident. Phantom tags are false targets displayed on radar or detection systems. They can be caused by electromagnetic interference, technical failures or signal processing features. On February 8, the crew of the plane en route Sochi – Perm also found unidentified tags on the radar on the approach to Ufa. The dispatcher was informed about several objects at once. The alarm about the approach of aircraft did not work. The markings did not appear on the air situation indicator screen, and the commander decided to continue the flight. It is noted that the plane safely reached its destination.
