Magadan region keeps the country's gold reserves
Two-thirds of Russia’s gold reserves are in Siberia and the Far East, in the bowels of five regions: the Magadan and Irkutsk regions, the Krasnoyarsk and Trans-Baikal territories and Yakutia, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia reported. The prospects for the discovery of new fields are also associated with these territories.

The prospects for the discovery of new fields are also associated with these territories.
The world mineral resources of gold amount to 166 thousand tons, more than 10% of reserves are concentrated in the bowels of Russia. Currently, there are 6,545 deposits or 16,745 tons of projected gold on the state balance sheet. Russia ranks second in the world after Canada in terms of raw material potential. Over 30% of the yellow metal is stored in the depths of three objects: Sukhoi Log in the Irkutsk region – the largest deposit in our country with reserves of 2 thousand 770 tons, Natalkinskoye – in the Magadan region – one thousand 385 tons and Olympiadskoye in the Krasnoyarsk Territory – 949 tons. By 2030, subsoil users plan to introduce or increase production capacity at large 13 fields.
