CBS: U.S. Asks Syria to Consider Relocating Palestinians from Gaza

According to CBS, the Trump administration and Israel are showing interest in Syria as a potential location for the resettlement of Gazans. Three sources familiar with U.S. President Donald Trump’s plans to relocate Gazans abroad told CBS that Trump and Israel were interested in Syria. One of the sources said that the administration of the head of the White house tried to organize negotiations with the interim government of Syria with the help of a mediator, according to CBS. However, Syrian authorities said they were not aware of attempts by the US and Israel to contact Damascus on the matter. “Another source in the region told CBS that the request reached the Syrian government, but it is not clear whether the Syrian side responded,” the channel said. In addition to Syria, the US and Israel have also sent proposals to the governments of Sudan and Somalia. However, Somalia’s ambassador to the UN, Dahir Hassan, denied the information, and the Sudanese government did not comment on the request.
