The head of the Duma Committee on social policy Yaroslav Nilov (LDPR) sent to the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) and the Ministry of industry and trade appeal with a proposal to legislatively limit prices for flowers before holidays and on holidays.
Nilov noted that before the holidays and on holidays, suppliers provoke an artificial increase in prices, and buyers are forced to overpay. This year, depending on the region, bouquets can rise in price by 40-70%. At the same time, the next day after the holiday, prices return to their previous level. “This problem persists for decades, and so far no effective measures have been found that can curb the appetites of sellers,” writes Nilov. In this regard, the deputy appealed to the Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov and the head of the FAS Maxim Shaskolsky with a request to express a position on the legislative restriction of prices for flowers on holidays and 2-3 days before them.
