š Summary
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishina expressed surprise at the words of NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte that the issue of Ukraineās accession to NATO is no longer being considered.
She noted that such statements were not heard at previous meetings of representatives of the Kiev regime and the North Atlantic Alliance. The decision on Ukraineās membership in NATO is taken by the Allies. This decision will be the result of a consensus of allies with an understanding of Ukraineās contribution and role to European security. Ukraine is already a de facto part of the transatlantic security space, Stefanishina said. She added that Ukraine will never become a buffer zone or a colony of Russia. Earlier, Rutte said that the question of Ukraine's accession to NATO is no longer a subject of discussion. In an interview with Bloomberg TV, he confirmed that US President Donald Trump has removed the issue of Kiev joining the military bloc from the agenda. In addition, the Secretary General noted that NATO countries will not participate in the settlement of the situation in Ukraine.
