Chairman of the Moscow City Duma Education Commission Alexander Semennikov in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel explained the importance of increasing funding for Moscow schools.
According to the Deputy, he supports the increase in the standard of funding for students from 5 to 9 grades. “This is the age and those classes when a child is formed, his interests are formed, and it is important not to even spend more, it is more correct to say, to invest more from the budget of the city of Moscow in our children, in our future, the future of the capital, the future of Russia,” Semennikov said. Recall that in 2025, spending on education will increase by 46 billion rubles. Funding for schools will increase by 13%. The Moscow government decided to introduce a single high standard of financing in the 5-11 grades instead of two different middle and senior levels, as well as increase its size. It will be 197 thousand rubles a year per student, according to the official website of the mayor of Moscow. It is also specified that the standard of financing in primary school (fifth – ninth grades) will grow by almost 20%, and for 10-11 grades – by 5.4%. The per capita norm in primary school (first – fourth grades) will grow by almost 15.7% to 171 thousand rubles a year.
