A criminal case has been initiated against the vice-rector of one of the universities of the Lipetsk region. She is suspected of fraud using official position, according to the regional department of the IC. The sanction under this article carries a penalty of up to 6 years imprisonment.
"According to the investigation, the suspect stole budget funds belonging to the university by collecting one-time bonuses paid to employees," the report said. The Investigative Committee explained that incentive payments to colleagues of the suspect were re-accrued on the basis of a memo made by her. As part of the investigation of the criminal case, the university conducted searches and seized accounting documentation, interrogated its employees, found out other possible facts of illegal activity. The issue of choosing a suspected preventive measure is being resolved, the IC added. According to the "RG", the suspect is the vice-rector of the Yelets State University, which has been working at the university since 1990.
