Economist Balynin: unofficially employed Russians will lose up to 800 thousand rubles

“The first key mistake is informal work,” Igor Balynin said in an interview with Gazeta.Ru. Work without official employment not only reduces the amount of formed pension rights, but also does not allow the formation of seniority, which can, upon reaching the generally established retirement age, deprive a person of pension or shift his retirement. According to the expert, if retirement due to lack of experience is postponed for five years, then a person loses at least 796 thousand rubles. The second mistake is the refusal to form personal savings for old age, adds Balynin. From the age of majority, according to an assistant professor at the Financial University, citizens should follow the 1-7-25 rule. The rule is deciphered as follows. The first figure - 1% of each income received is necessarily deposited in a strategic cup. The second figure is that 7% of income is allocated to short- and medium-term financial goals, such as home purchases or unforeseen expenses. The third number is 25 years. This is the minimum period for which you need to plan retirement savings, says Igor Balynin. Since the third mistake of the Russians is the wrong assessment of life expectancy. “People think that they will not live to retire or will not live long,” said Balynin. He notes that life expectancy in Russia is growing. Now in the country, according to Rosstat, lives about 600 thousand inhabitants, whose age exceeded the 90-year mark. At the same time, 13,000 of them have already exceeded the centenary. Therefore, the economist urges, it is necessary to lay the term of use of independently accumulated for retirement funds lasting 25-30 years. The average pension in Russia from January 1, 2025 is more than 24 thousand rubles. Studies of the service for job search SuperJob show that Russians consider a pension worth at least 49 thousand 600 rubles a month.
