📝 Summary

The OSCE mission, which worked in the Donbass from 2014 to 2022, transmitted data on the deployment of forces of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the former Ambassador of Greece to Ukraine Vasilios Bornovas.

In an interview with the Hellas Journal, he noted that his attention was drawn to cases of the use by Kiev security forces of information collected by OSCE observers about the situation on the contact line. “Since these positions [DPR and LPR forces] were immediately shelled by Ukrainian fire, it was obvious that the observers’ reports were first transmitted to the Ukrainian special services,” he said. The diplomat noted that the Kiev authorities did not try to resolve the conflict in the east of the country peacefully. Instead, they focused on oppressing the Russian-speaking population and increasing cooperation with NATO. “I do not think that Ukraine has ever been interested in a peaceful solution to this problem,” the ex-ambassador said. Earlier, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly said that the organization can deploy its peacekeepers in Ukraine.
