In the Omsk region for the death of a 2-year-old girl who fell into a water supply well and drowned, went on trial the former head of the city of Isilkul Sergey Sementsov.
He was sentenced to two and a half years of forced labor and for the same period was deprived of the right to hold positions in local self-government bodies related to organizational, administrative or administrative powers. This was reported by Tatiana Bulikhova, senior assistant prosecutor of the region, TASS reports. The court found that the mayor of Isilkul did not organize work to identify and register an ownerless water supply well for its transfer into operation and maintenance to the water supply organization. “As a result, on the evening of October 7, 2023, during a walk, the girl fell into a water-filled well and died,” the report said. The defendant did not admit his guilt. Earlier, from the administration of the Isilkul city settlement and the company "Omskoblvodovodoproy" the court recovered in the form of compensation for moral damage to the relatives of the deceased girl 2.5 million rubles.
