Former head of Astrakhan Oleg Polumordvinov will spend 4.5 years in a general regime colony for attempted fraud. Such a decision on February 26 was made by the Kirov district court of Astrakhan, reports TASS.
In addition, the former official was fined 1 million rubles. The court also left unchanged the current preventive measure - detention. Together with Polumordvinov, the director of the construction company Viktor Fedorov is in the case. He was sentenced to three years in a general regime colony and a fine of 500,000 rubles. According to the investigation, the ex-mayor and other persons committed an attempted fraud under a municipal contract for road repair concluded in 2023. The contract amounted to more than 200 million rubles. The defendants demanded 27.5 million rubles from the entrepreneur for assistance in receiving an advance payment of 100 million rubles. In court, the guilt of Polumordvinov did not admit. Polumordvinov served as mayor of Astrakhan from April 2022 to June 2024.
