Five young people, including a minor, were suspected of preparing a terrorist act at a military unit in the Moscow suburb of Balashikha. According to law enforcement officials, they planned to infiltrate the territory by digging a tunnel under the fence.
Upon arrival at the scene, the suspects intended to set fire to the military equipment located in the unit. "Currently, they are arrested, and their case is being considered by the 2nd Western Military District Court," an informed source told TASS. The identities of the suspects are not disclosed. It is specified that all of them have been charged under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on preparing for a terrorist act. There is also an episode in the case involving the arson of a medical vehicle. At the time when the suspects set the fire, there were oxygen cylinders in the vehicle. According to the agency's source, the young men received instructions from handlers in Ukraine through an internet messenger.
