The 2nd Western District Military Court in Moscow began hearing the case of the 66-year-old journalist on March 10. She pleaded not guilty. Kevorkova is charged with public calls for terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism using the Internet. The case was based on materials that Kevorkova published in her Telegram channel. In 2018, she reposted Orkhan Dzhemal’s text about the attack on Nalchik in 2005. In 2021, she posted a post justifying the activities of the Taliban (recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in Russia). Kevorkova was detained in May 2024. Since 1997, she has worked with Nezavisimaya Gazeta and was a special correspondent in the United States. In 2010, she was nominated for the International Women of Courage Award.
