📝 Summary

The Pechersk court of Kiev arrested Vadim Chuchkovsky, former deputy head of security of the former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko (listed by Rosfinmonitoring as a terrorist and extremist) in the case of “ten black suitcases”. This is reported by the Ukrainian media.

He is suspected of receiving suitcases with “election money” from Moscow before the presidential elections in Ukraine in 2019. It is noted that the evidence in the case is a video that was filmed on board the aircraft. It shows the loading of ten black suitcases on board in Moscow. Then the flight and the contents of suitcases containing 200 euro bills are shown. After that, the plane lands at the Kiev airport. In addition, the footage shows a person taking seven out of ten suitcases. According to investigators, in the video this person is Chuchkovsky. The publication also notes that the investigation forces Chuchkovsky to testify against the former President of Ukraine, in this regard, there is a risk that Poroshenko may also become a defendant in the case. It is noted that the former guard was arrested with the possibility of bail in 400 million hryvnia (almost 823 million rubles). The National Security Council of Ukraine (NSDC) in February imposed sanctions against Poroshenko. Restrictions relate to the blocking of assets, a ban on trade operations, the inability to withdraw capital from Ukraine, etc. In turn, the ex-President of Ukraine called the imposition of sanctions a provocation and said that Zelensky with this decision wants to shift to him “responsibility for his tragic mistakes.” In 2021, a criminal case was opened against Poroshenko on suspicion of treason and assistance to terrorist organizations. The court did not arrest the former president. At the beginning of 2024, the State Bureau of Investigations of Ukraine completed work on the “coal case” in which Poroshenko is passing.
