This week, the FSB opened a criminal case against Ilya Ponomarev (recognized in Russia as a foreign agent, included in the register of extremists and terrorists) in connection with an attempt to forcibly seize power. Accomplices of the former State Duma deputy began searches, they are held in nine regions. Special services have already identified Ponomarev’s links with Ukrainian terrorists and identified his accomplices who are hiding abroad. He faces a life sentence.
