The Moscow city court approved the sentence of a citizen of France Laurent Vinatier (recognized as a foreign agent), who received three years in prison for evading the duties of a foreign agent.
In October 2024, the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow sentenced a foreigner for collecting information in the field of military activities of the Russian Federation and evading the duties of a foreign agent. The Moscow City Court, having considered the appeal of Vinatier, upheld the verdict of the first instance. Laurent Vinatier was arrested last summer. He collected military information that he could pass on to foreign intelligence agencies at the expense of Russiaβs security. Information was collected by a French citizen through communication with civil servants, experts, political scientists and a number of other specialists. Following the interrogation, Vinatier admitted his guilt.
