Investigators began checking on the fact of an incident involving an intercity bus that left for a railway crossing in the Ust-Kutsky district in front of an approaching freight train. This was reported in the SU TFR in the Irkutsk region.
According to the Agency, early in the morning of February 28 at the crossing of Yantal – Lena East Siberian railway driver of the bus, traveling from Irkutsk to Ust-Kut, stopped in front of the barrier in close proximity to the railway tracks with a moving train, endangering the life and health of passengers. The driver was forced to apply emergency braking. As a result of the incident, no one was injured, the movement of trains was not suspended. A check has been organized on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements. The East Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office has also begun checking the implementation of the legislation on traffic safety and operation of railway transport, during which the actions of the locomotive brigade will be assessed, as well as the work of the technical means installed at the crossing.
