In Kamchatka, a 44-year-old guardian starved a 5-year-old girl, a woman is detained. This was reported by the regional Investigative Committee (SK).
The woman is charged under paragraph "c", "d" part 2 of article 105 of the criminal code ("Murder of a minor committed with special cruelty"). According to the investigation, the woman, being a guardian, knew about the presence of a congenital disease in the child and was acquainted with the necessary medical recommendations. However, from March 2024 to January 2025, the accused systematically deprived the girl of adequate nutrition necessary for normal functioning of the body, did not follow the recommendations of doctors and ignored the obvious signs of exhaustion in the child. All this led to cachexia (extremely severe exhaustion of the body). - Ed.), weakening of the body and pneumonia. The child died in a medical facility. "At present, investigative and other procedural actions are being carried out in the case aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crime committed, collecting and securing the evidence base," the IC said.
