The commander of the 24th separate motorized rifle brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Colonel Ivan Golishevsky, was sentenced in absentia to 21 years of imprisonment in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reports.
On January 12 last year, the Ukrainian military ordered subordinates to attack civilian and social facilities in Horlivka and settlements near it with the help of a UAV. Following the order of Golishevsky, Ukrainian militants dropped an explosive device from a drone on a moving civilian vehicle. The driver and passenger of the car died from the injuries. “The court sentenced Golishevsky to 21 years in prison in absentia. He was put on the international wanted list, the SK said. It is specified that the commander was found guilty under Articles 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of two persons committed in a generally dangerous way, by an organized group), as well as 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional damage to someone else's property, which entailed causing significant damage).
