MPs almost unanimously passed amendments to this year's main current financial document. New changes and redistribution of money are associated with gratuitous revenues from the regional budget.
The main topics of the meeting: changes in the master plan, privatization and budget issues. In total, the deputies considered 18 questions. At the very beginning of the meeting, the deputies honored the memory of those killed during the terrorist attack in the Moscow region, and only then moved to the agenda. The first question is about the results of the privatization program last year, the second one is about plans for 2024. And here in the list is "Novgorod water canal". The idea of privatizing this socially significant enterprise has been discussed for several years, and even now it causes discussion. Several people’s deputies demanded to keep Vodokanal in the ownership of the city, but deputy Sergey Zolotarev, who is also the general director of this enterprise, insisted on the need for privatization. Sergey Zolotarev, as an interested person, did not take part in the vote, however, by a majority of votes the deputies approved the privatization of the Novgorod Vodkanal. The meeting participants also supported changes to the general plan of Veliky Novgorod, clarifying the zoning of several territories on the city map. One of the key amendments concerned the University of Novgorod and large-scale projects related to it. The deputies also approved amendments to the budget: money was allocated for updating the project to continue Bolshaya Moskovskaya Street, in addition, 10 million rubles were received from the regional budget within the framework of the Our Choice project, co-financing from the city has already been provided.
