Strengthened infrastructure checks were held at the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD) with the help of the unique mobile complex Pioneer, the head of the Moscow Center for Diagnostics and Monitoring of Infrastructure Devices of the Moscow Railway Sergey Bibikov told the Rossiya TV channel.
According to him, the Pioneer detects defective rails and path malfunctions, and also makes different measurements. “[Pioneer] ... allows to measure the geometry of the rail track, to make ultrasonic control to identify acutely defective rails, to detect visual faults of the track, using video control systems that are installed under the car, also equipped with spatial scanning infrastructure,” said Bibikov. Pioneer is able to identify and register at least 120 parameters of the technical condition of infrastructure facilities for one trip. Monitoring is conducted around the clock, the brigade takes over and lives in 15 days. Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that it was decided to extend the IDC to neighboring regions, the first stage of the extension will begin in 2025 and will take about three to four years.
