📝 Summary

In an exclusive interview with the TV channel "Russia", scientists of the Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU-KHTI) told about a new method of cleaning the sand of Anapa beaches with the help of dispersants.

The new cleaning method proposed by scientists is simple and inexpensive. Water and dispersant are added to the viscous black mass - surfactants, then this mass is shaken. Mazut crumbles and floats up, and sand settles at the bottom. The microparticles are completely degradable, and the sand can be returned to the beach or used in construction. “As a rule, [dispersants] are surfactants of plant origin that do not harm either marine organisms or the environment,” explained Dmitry Kuryashov, associate professor of chemical technology for oil and gas processing at KNRTU-KHTI. All components are Russian-made, the project is already actively interested, volunteers are ready to use the technology. “This is very important, very relevant, and it is necessary to automate the sand cleaning process,” said Alexander Paigachkin, a student at the university. Earlier it was reported that scientists will test the technology of cleaning sand from fuel oil using volcanic sorbent. In mid-January, rescuers completed the removal of sand with fuel oil from the beaches of Kuban.
