A resident of the Lipetsk region faces up to 5 years in prison for setting fire to someone else’s garage out of revenge. According to the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, the 38-year-old Yelchanka held a grudge against a friend, who gave money in debt. From October 6 to 7, 2024, a woman drove up to the garage where he was repairing cars, and set it on fire. Yelchanka thought that the building belongs to a friend, but he rented it from a 53-year-old man. The damage amounted to 54 800 rubles. The fire damaged the gate, 2 acoustic speakers and interior decoration. A criminal case was opened under Article 167 of the Criminal Code on intentional damage to property. The woman does not work anywhere and was previously convicted.
