Opera festival "Tales in Tsaritsyn" - 11 March 2025, 10:24

Mysterious and mystical East excited opera composers all four centuries of the genre. Ice Princess Turandot and Prince Calaf in love with her, the love triangle of Indian pearl fishers, the mysterious healers and temperamental knights from the legend of Iolant – all these plots are intertwined in the opera performance “Tales of the Nations of the World”. In the extravaganza on the stage, set on the Great glade, surrounded by bizarre Tsaritsyn architecture - the natural scenery of the festival. Participating: Russian National Orchestra, Veronika Dzhioeva, Polina Shamayeva, Ramon Vargas and Vasily Ladyuk. Conductor Christian Knapp. Artistic word Sergey Burunov and Miron Provorov. Screenplay by Ilya Kuharenko. Directed by Alexey Frandetti. The heroes of “Ruslan and Lyudmila” by M. Glinka, “Snow Maiden”, “Golden Cockerel”, “Sadko” and “Tales of Tsar Saltan” by N. Rimsky-Korsakov will meet at Tsaritsyn glade. A trip to the country of Russian fairy tales and epics will be simultaneously unfolded in a video projection created based on the famous paintings of V. Vasnetsov, I. Bilibin, N. Roerich, M. Vrubel and other Russian artists. The concert program will feature famous fragments of operas performed by Albina Shagimuratova, Vladislav Sulimsky, Agunda Kulayeva, Alexei Tatarintsev, accompanied by the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia.
