Prosecutor demands 8 years in prison for ex-official of Rosaviatsiya for bribes from pilots
The prosecutor demanded to sentence to 8 years in prison the former head of the department of the highest qualification commission of Rosaviation Maxim Pavlyuk in the case of bribes from pilots for a total of 10 million rubles. The man is charged under Part 3 of Art. 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Participation in a criminal community using official position”), two episodes of Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Getting a bribe in an especially large amount”), Part 5 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Getting a bribe in a large amount”). It is specified that Pavlyuk admitted guilt in full and concluded a deal with the investigation. His case is considered by the court in a special order. He also asked the court to take these facts into account, as well as the presence of a seriously ill son as mitigating circumstances. According to the lawyer of the defendant Alexei Mikhalchik, his client fulfilled all the conditions for cooperation with the investigation, so the court, taking into account all the above circumstances, may impose a punishment less than the one requested by the prosecutor.
