Putin: the modern generation of Russians are not ashamed of their ancestors

The head of state noted that on the shoulders of modern Russians fell a difficult, but extremely honorable mission to protect the country. He assured the soldiers that they were doing their duty. We are not ashamed of you before our fathers, before our ancestors. We are fighting for the Motherland and we will do everything – I know that you and those who are close to you – we will do everything to pass it on to future generations, our children, our grandchildren. On February 23, Putin presented state awards to the defenders and Heroes of Russia. He thanked the soldiers gathered in the Kremlin for their service and protection of the Motherland. The head of state also laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin wall. Together with him, the ceremony was attended by servicemen awarded the title of Hero of Russia, as well as Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov.
