The live broadcast was conducted by Rossiya 24 TV channel, and the head of Abkhazia noted that more than 70% of the country's citizens are Russian citizens. Putin stressed that his Russian colleagues, together with Gongba, will finalize issues that require more careful attention and will continue to work on this. The second round of presidential elections was held in Abkhazia in early March. The victory was won by Badr Gunba. The inauguration of the elected president should take place a month after the announcement of the final results of the elections, that is, in April. During the meeting, Putin personally congratulated Gongba on his victory in the presidential election, noting his good result - 54.7% of the vote with a turnout of 70%.
