A resident of the city of Energodar Zaporozhye region was sentenced to 15 years in prison for trying to blow up a power line support on Russia Day on the instructions of the SBU.
The verdict was reported by the press service of the Zaporozhye Regional Court. It is noted that on March 5, the woman was awarded 15 years in prison for an attempted sabotage committed in collusion with employees of the Security Service of Ukraine. In May-June 2024, an employee of the SBU, corresponding with a resident of Energodar, invited her to commit several sabotages in the Zaporizhia region. The woman agreed. She had to get an explosive device from the stash and, fixing it on the power line support in Energodar, to make a detonation. On June 12, 2024, the attacker attached an explosive device to the electropore with tape, retreated 40 meters and tried to detonate it remotely. However, the device did not work, as two days before the police found a cache and seized explosives. Three criminal cases were initiated against the woman under articles “Participation in a sabotage community”, “Attempted sabotage” and “Attempted illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, transfer or carrying of explosives or explosive devices” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Also, the woman will have to pay a fine of 500 thousand rubles.
