The corresponding letter was sent by the head of the RSPP Alexander Shokhin to presidential aide Larisa Brycheva. Its authenticity RBC confirmed a source in the Union. Shokhin believes that the rapid localization of taxis can lead to a reduction in the number of taxis, as well as the departure of self-employed drivers, which will negatively affect prices. In addition, the RSPP doubts the possibility of ensuring localization of production in a short time. Last year, the Russian taxi industry received 90 thousand domestic cars, including 56 thousand Lada cars. In the current version of the bill, only vehicles that have 3200 localization points or more will be used for taxi transportation. The requirements should come into force on October 1, 2025. Now the criterion corresponds to only four models of AvtoVAZ – Lada Vesta, Lada Granta, Lada Largus and Lada Aura. According to the business, the organization of production of localized cars will take a lot of time, so the supply on the market will be impossible to satisfy. The RSPP proposes to postpone the entry into force of the law no earlier than September 1, 2026. In addition, it is necessary to improve state programs to support the purchase of taxi cars, so that more stringent localization requirements can be envisaged.
