In an interview with Gazeta.Ru, the fighter said that he considers this fact a positive event. “The only thing I want to say is that this is like a reward,” Burtsev admitted. Burtsev rose to prominence after internet users noticed his apparent resemblance to the Hollywood actor. He took part in various TV shows several times and starred in commercials. Burtsev signed a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry on September 19, 2024. According to him, before making this decision, he thought about it well and approached it with the utmost responsibility. In January of this year, he received a certificate of a combat veteran.
