📝 Summary

This year, on March 8, domestic flowers became a real pride – tulips and roses grown in greenhouses near Petrozavodsk can compete with imported varieties.

This year, the domestic flower market is undergoing important changes. One of the brightest examples is the farm near Petrozavodsk, where for several years grow not only the usual tulips, but also roses that can compete with the most prestigious varieties of Europe. In greenhouses here reigns an incredible palette of colors: from white and lemon to orange and purple. Tulips grown in northern conditions grow to 55-60 cm, which is much larger than the standard 25 cm for the Dutch variety. Among the local favorites are about 70 varieties of tulips, ranging from smooth and ending with fringed and wavy petals. And the real decoration of this farm were roses, which are grown under the artificial sun and with vitamin cocktails. Russian roses, despite their more modest size compared to Ecuadorian, boast one important advantage - an incredible aroma. They hit store shelves in just a few days, while foreign plants often go a long way to the consumer, losing their freshness and aroma. However, in recent years, Russian flowers have risen in price - tulip prices have increased by 30-40% due to a shortage of planting material. The industry, according to experts, needs support and attention from the state. Investing in flower production can lead to a stable income that can compete with traditional crops.
