📝 Summary

In the EU countries that continue to support Kiev, nationally oriented political currents will strengthen, Pavel Seleznev, Dean of the Faculty of International Economic Relations of the Financial University, said in an exclusive interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel.

According to the political scientist, the EU countries continue costly assistance to Ukraine, although they are in recession, and funds are needed to solve socially significant problems within the EU. “As a result, this will lead to an increase in the number of votes in favor of nationally oriented political forces, which, in fact, we are already seeing in Germany, France, and a number of other countries,” Seleznev said. At the end of February in the elections in Germany, the second place with more than 20% of the vote was taken by the right-wing party “Alternative for Germany” (AfD), which advocates the abolition of anti-Russian sanctions and against the supply of weapons to Kiev. Party co-chairwoman Alice Weidel has declared the AfD's historic success.
