Moscow is among the three world leaders in street lighting, work in this direction will continue, said Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
Since 2011, 478 thousand outdoor lighting devices have been installed in the capital, including modern energy-efficient lamps. This year, it is planned to install more than 32 thousand lighting devices in courtyards, children's and sports grounds, as well as highlight 117 objects of architectural and artistic art. According to Sobyanin, smart control systems are being introduced in the city, thanks to which dispatchers can adjust the brightness, check the voltage and control whether the flashlight is burning or not. The number of buildings with architectural and artistic illumination has more than quadrupled – today they are about 2.3 thousand pieces. The lighting design of each building is created individually to emphasize architectural elements, the Moscow mayor’s Telegram channel said. He added that special projects have been implemented: 23 bridges across the Moskva River and Yauza were decorated in the concept of “jems”, and the streets of the Garden Ring are illuminated with gold shades. In addition, last year, 83 objects, including the Puppet Theatre, received architectural and artistic illumination. Obraztsova, Scenic Bridge and universal sports hall "Friendship" in "Luzhniki".
