The Gagarinsky court of Moscow has begun to consider the case of a false doctor Nikolai Nikonov and his wife Lilia. The meetings will be held in private.
The spouses are charged with articles of the Criminal Code “Fraud” and “Provision of services that do not meet security requirements”. Having no specialized medical education, Nikonov promised patients that his unique methods allegedly cure cerebral palsy. For a course of massages to a child born in 2017, he received more than 3 million rubles. At the same time, the condition of the baby worsened. The investigation also found that during the receptions, the “doctor” was helped by his wife. Sometimes she also held sessions for which she received money. The initiation of a criminal case against the couple became known in the summer of 2022, but the Nikonovs fled the investigation. They were wanted and arrested in absentia, and then extradited from Kazakhstan, RIA Novosti reports.
