Ilya Polishchuk, Prosecutor of the Sverdlovsk district of Krasnoyarsk: "For committing in his favor illegal actions, patronage, connivance in the execution of works on overhaul of apartment buildings." In May 2023, the former head of the fund took the first part of the remuneration from the merchant. He was detained by police officers in the summer of the same year during the transfer of the second part of the amount. The defendant himself did not admit guilt and explained that he was not an official, did not perform official powers, did not take bribes, and the crime charged with him was an attempt to discredit. Initially, the state prosecutor asked the court to impose 10 years in prison. And a fine of 5 times the amount of bribery. As a result, the actions of the official were defined as “commercial bribery”. A fine of $24 million is only double the amount. The defendant in the case, who gave Popelyshev money, was released from liability for assistance in solving the crime
