The trial in the case of murder and assault in a bookmaker’s office in the city of Sysert, Sverdlovsk region has been completed. The guilty have been sentenced.
The completion of the proceedings is reported by the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Sverdlovsk region. It is noted that the Sverdlovsk regional court sentenced eight men to imprisonment for a term of 4 to 14 years, with a restriction of liberty for a term of 1 to 1.5 years. Seven convicts will serve their sentences in a strict regime colony. One of the defendants in the case was released from punishment in the courtroom. According to the investigation, on April 1, 2023, a minor conflict occurred between Kirill Starodub and Andranik Ferre. Starodub, considering himself insulted, decided to kill his opponent. He arranged a meeting with Ferre at the bookmaker's office. The crime was also brought friends of Starodub. On April 2, a fight broke out during the meeting, as a result of which one person died, three received injuries of varying severity. The court granted the civil claims of the victims and ordered the convicts to pay compensation for moral damage, as well as the costs of burial.
