Deputy Mikhail Matveev explained that if the ban is adopted at the legislative level, then the local authorities will have two options for action. “They [regions] have captured dogs and then they have two options: to keep these dogs, if they have the opportunity, the desire, the appropriate atmosphere in the region, or, as a colleague [Deputy Biisultan]. Khamzaev says, dispose of, — said Matveev. Also, the authors of the proposal consider it necessary to establish a minimum period of keeping animals - at least 30 days. MP Nina Ostanina, in turn, added that the fundamental proposal that the parliamentarians will defend is not to return dogs to the street. Recall that now in Russia there is a law according to which stray dogs are caught, vaccinated, sterilized, chipped and released back into the wild.
