Deputy Matveev: certificates for housing should be banned for ex-migrants
Deputies of the state Duma will consider the issue of banning the issuance of housing certificates to the so-called new Russians – migrants who received Russian citizenship recently. According to the project, families where one of the spouses was born in Russia or those who received a Russian passport at least 10 years ago will be able to apply for help from the state, State Duma deputy Mikhail Matveev said.

According to the Deputy, the criteria for issuing certificates regions set themselves. But you can influence their decision. “If at the federal level this issue will be promoted through the regulatory act of the government, I consider it correct and justified,” said Matveev in an interview with the portal Ura.ru. A precedent for a possible revision of the rules was the case in Khabarovsk, where yesterday’s migrants received housing certificates bypassing the queue of local residents. Similar incidents in other regions have also angered citizens. In three regions of the country – the Irkutsk region, the Khabarovsk Territory and Tatarstan – the investigative committee began checking the legality of the procedure.
