The gala concert ended the International Art Festival of Yuri Bashmet

The Yuri Bashmet Winter International Art Festival in Sochi ended with a festive concert. On the stage of the Winter Theatre, outstanding musicians and creative groups performed. According to the organizers, the program of the evening was rich and emotional. There were three premieres of contemporary composers. Reporting by Olga Shtopol. At the closing of the festival, the Song of Destiny of Brahms is played. And that's just the beginning. Under the curtain, the organizers prepared not only famous works, including Glazunov, Beethoven, but also three premieres of modern composers. Three choirs were brought to Sochi this year. It seemed to us that it would be a very clear, emotional, and intellectual closing of the festival this year, said Dmitry Grinchenko, executive director of the festival. And before the concert, journalists were able to talk to the musicians and even see part of the rehearsal. Grant Bashmet, grandson of Yuri Bashmet, for the first time solo at the festival. Adagio for violin from the ballet of Raymond Glazunov is one of the favorite works of the young musician. I, one way or another, love the congresses of the All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra, I am also sitting there, that is, I am today a half-program, well, I sing one number and play half of the program in an orchestra. And I did not think, because I am always in Sochi, I all my life in principle from scratch went to this festival with my family, now for the first time, respectively, I participate as a soloist, says violinist Grant Bashmet. And the guests of the evening were friends of the viola player and conductor - pianist Denis Matsuev, cellist Vasily Stepanov, composer Kuzma Bodrov, who presented his new work. “This is a happy occasion when there is an opportunity to present the premiere to the public at such a grandiose festival, at the closing, so for me it is exciting, and pleasant, and honorable, and joyful,” says composer Kuzma Bodrov. More than a thousand musicians, actors, conductors, dancers from Russia, Spain, China performed at the festival. And it's not the final chord. The festival ended, Yuri Bashmet said goodbye to Sochi, but promised to return. A big autumn concert is scheduled for November, which will again bring together the best musicians not only in Russia, but also, as the organizers hope, around the world.
