📝 Summary
Nevsky District Court of St. Petersburg sent a police officer accused of receiving bribes and robbery to the SIZO, the joint press service of the city courts reported.
According to reports, the defendant along with another operative of the criminal investigation department in the Nevsky district directly in the office received a bribe in the amount of 300 thousand rubles from a citizen for returning to two other men money seized from them during personal checks after reporting a crime. The accomplice of the arrested policeman was placed in custody in November 2024. In addition, in the fall of 2024, police detained a man in one of the shopping centers of the city and escorted him to the car, which was searched without formalizing protocols. Presumably, they openly stole about 2.5 million rubles from the victim, after which they brought the man to the station on suspicion of theft. The suspected law enforcement officer was detained on Thursday, March 7, he was charged under articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on taking a bribe, exceeding official powers and robbery. The man will remain in custody until at least March 22.
