The residents of Novosibirsk have started celebrating Maslenitsa week before Great Lent.

He kicks off the pancake marathon. However, it was not customary to eat the very first pancake, Slavs would give it to the bears. Hence the proverb. "On this day, the bear - the bear had to be awakened. A den was being built in the village, a young man climbed in wearing a bear skin. To wake him up, they sang, danced, played, and brought pancakes. And he slept until the most beautiful girl climbed into the den and kissed him," says tour guide Elena Bolshedvorova. There are plenty of such amazing rituals and customs in our culture. Many are still relevant today, you just need to know what to sing, what to play. The keepers of ancient traditions in Novosibirsk will guide you. For example, schoolchildren in Alexeevskaya Sloboda are told about each day of Maslenitsa. "We tell the children what each day is called, what people did at that time, where they went, what games they played. And we talk about traditions," explained tour guide Ekaterina Gaidar. At the very first stage, you need to prepare venues for festivities, make a scarecrow and walk around the entire village with it, waking up the earth with lively round dances. One of the traditions resembles trendy psychological exercises: write "I want to get rid of..." on a piece of paper and burn the note together with the scarecrow. In a matter of seconds, everything unnecessary burns away, leaving only smiles behind. Experts assure that Maslenitsa cannot be celebrated without them. You may not have pancakes, but joy, faith in the best, and a kind heart are a must.
