The state Duma adopted a draft on conscription for military service during the year
Authors of the document group of deputies under the leadership of the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense Andrei Kartapolov, reports . The decision on conscription, which was not implemented in the current conscription period, must be executed in subsequent conscription campaigns within one year. This rule will come into force from 1 January 2025 and will apply to decisions taken by draft commissions from 1 October to 31 December 2024. The bill also envisages the creation of a single draft commission in cities of federal significance, as well as in several municipal districts or districts. The main criteria for the establishment of such commissions will be transport accessibility, facilities and capacity. According to the deputies, this will reduce the number of officials involved and improve the quality of the appeal.
