In the state Duma introduced a law on toughening penalties for the sale of unmarked products

The initiators of the project were senators of the Russian Federation and deputies of the State Duma. The bill proposes to increase the fine to 1 million rubles and the term of another type of payment in the amount of wages for a period of up to three years. It is also proposed to increase the penalty for imprisonment from 120 thousand rubles to 200 thousand rubles. When committing a crime by a group of persons or in an especially sparing amount, it is proposed to increase the fine from 400-800 thousand rubles to 1-2 million rubles. The bill does not provide for tougher penalties related to deprivation of liberty. It is also proposed to reduce the number of unlabeled products, which is considered a large volume, from 100,000 to 50,000. The project is designed to strengthen the measures of criminal impact on offenders. The explanatory note notes that, according to Rospotrebnadzor, in 2023 under the relevant article, 1,760 persons were brought to justice. Earlier, on February 10, it was reported that the state Duma may consider a bill on the transfer of confiscated unmarked products to charity.
