📝 Summary

The joint project of Volgograd-TRV and the Victory Museum continues. In the teleconference mode, we talk with leading experts about the preservation of historical memory, the study of white spots in the context of the events of the 1940s, acquaint our viewers with the capabilities of the main military-historical museum of Russia on the theme of the Great Patriotic War and World War II.

In connection with GTRK "Volgograd-TRV" Victory Museum. We will talk with specialist historian Alexander Mikhailov. On the eve of the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland, we have the opportunity to look at the main solemn hall of the Museum - the Hall of Commanders. We are in one of the main halls of our Museum – the Hall of Commanders. It is named so, because here on the perimeter there are busts of 11 famous Soviet commanders, marshals and one general of the army, who were awarded for their outstanding military successes by the highest military commander's order "Victory", - said specialist historian Alexander Mikhailov. In the gallery of knights of the Order of Victory, the memory of the military leaders who forged the Stalingrad victory is immortalized. How was the skill of the strategists honed in this battle? Here are the busts of Marshals Tolbukhin, Rokossovsky and Vasilevsky, who took direct part in the Battle of Stalingrad from the summer of 1942 to February 2, 1943. It was here, on the banks of the Volga, in the Battle of Stalingrad, that their military talent manifested itself, here they developed military experience, which further helped to crush the enemy, liberate the territory of the Soviet Union and put an end to the Great Patriotic War on the territory of Germany in Berlin. In the days of the Battle of Stalingrad, Konstantin Rokossovsky headed the Don Front, it was he who completed the encirclement of the Stalingrad group of German troops, and the troops of the Don Front captured Paulus. It was in this front that the first interrogation of Friedrich Paulus took place. Also, other Soviet commanders – Vasilevsky and Tolbukhin – held leading positions in the system of the Armed Forces of the Soviet Union and fought in the Battle of Stalingrad, said historian Alexander Mikhailov. As far as we understand, the Victory Museum works in the format of a cultural and educational center. Applications are now being collected for participation in the “Voices of Victory” project. What do you need to do for the residents of our Volgograd region to join the project? The Victory Museum is implementing the Voices of Victory project, which is a very important project, one of the most emotional projects that we are implementing as part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. This project will be included in our upcoming exposition "The Way to Victory". As part of this project, we encourage and collect from citizens of our vast Motherland and neighboring countries 30-second recordings of letters that are stored in family albums of relatives whose veterans took part in the hostilities. We want to perpetuate their memory and urge you to write down 30-second excerpts from letters from the Great Patriotic War period, take a picture of this letter, attach to the box a biographical reference of the person who wrote this letter and to whom it was written, send us on request through the official website of the Victory Museum on the project page. These audio tracks and letters will be part of our new exposition “The Way to Victory”, which we will open on the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, said Alexander Mikhailov, a specialist historian.
