Putin recommended to check the state of monuments of the Great Patriotic War

The relevant item is contained in the list of instructions of the head of state following the meeting of the Russian Organizing Committee “Victory”, which is published on the Kremlin website. “Recommend <...> to conduct an inventory of the physical condition of memorials and monuments dedicated to the heroes and events of the Great Patriotic War,” the text of the order says. The state of the monuments will be checked by the executive bodies of the regions, as well as the Russian Military Historical Society. It is specified that it is also recommended to conduct an inventory of mass graves and single burials. If necessary, it is recommended to carry out repair and improvement of monuments, ensure their accessibility, as well as update information about memorials on the portal "MestoPamyati.RF". Responsible for the execution of the order appointed the heads of regions of the Russian Federation, as well as assistant to the President of Russia Vladimir Medinsky. The deadline for execution of the order is until April 30 of this year. In 2025, the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War is celebrated.
