In Russia, the unemployment rate increased in comparison with the indicators of December 2024, in January 2025 it amounted to 2.4%, follows from the data of Rosstat.
In the first month of this year, 1.8 million people aged 15 years and older were classified as unemployed. Among them, the proportion of women was 51.1%. Accordingly, the unemployment rate for women (2.5%) is higher than for men (2.3%). Of the total number of unemployed, 1.1 million are urban residents, 0.7 million are rural, the average age was 38.1 years, follows from Rosstat data.
