According to the Unified Interdepartmental Information and Statistical System (EMISS), prices for freshly cut flowers in Russia increased by 20% over the past year.
The average cost of one flower today is 220 rubles., said the expert group of corporate ratings ACRA Anton Trenin. According to Rosstat, inflation in Russia was 9.52% in 2024. “Cosmetics, including toilet water and mascara, rose in price by only 1.3% and 3.4% over the year. Women’s shoes rose by 8.3%, Trenin said. Prices for chocolates, as well as the cost of tours to Turkey and Egypt increased by 11%, 11.5% and 11.8%, respectively. Meanwhile, Russia already grows flowers that can compete with foreign samples. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2024, almost 400 million flowers were grown in Russia. Today, 135 flower greenhouse complexes operate in the country.
